View previews, news, and BI Pages, send and receive messages. The "Home" button appears at the top left of the left menu in the application.
Note: Users can drag and drop the items listed in this menu to control which screen they see at login. Choosing to have Previews displayed at login, along with certain BI Pages is a typical choice. (Users will need to logout for any changes to take effect.)
Previews
View reports saved as Previews, also referred to as Favorites with Previews. Previews are reports that display the first several rows of the results. Each Preview stores the advanced sort and/or advanced filter settings that were in place when the Preview was created. Note that user-defined grid columns will populate to previews if the "Preview" flag is checked. For information on how to add or modify Favorites, refer to Managing User Favorites and Previews.
News
This section of the Deacommain menu form can be used to display a RSS feed. Examples include a company's own RSS feed, a general news feed, or an industry-specific news feed. To set up a RSS feed, navigate to CRM > Options and enter the RSS feed's URL in the "Company RSS" field. To see the feed, log out of Deacomand log back in.
Messages
The Messages tab is used to send and receive internal messages to and from other users from within Deacom. New messages are sent similar to emails and, depending on the user's security settings, can be configured to be sent to All Users, one Specific User, or all users within a User Group. When a user has unread messages, a badge appears on the Messages tab heading indicating the number of messages that have not yet been viewed. This feature is useful for situations when an important message needs to be communicated with system users, such as when the system is being restarted/updated or when users are about to be logged out.
BI Pages List
When users click the "Home" menu option, all BI Pages assigned to their User or User Group will be listed.
